Early Intervention
Children are one of life’s most precious gifts. They grow and develop in unique ways and bring joy to our lives from the moment they are born. As a loving parent, it’s natural for you to worry about your child’s development. You may find yourself asking questions like:
- Is my child behind the other kids?
- Should my child be talking more at this age?
- Why isn’t my child learning as quickly as I had hoped?
By turning to Creative Home Programs (CHP), a partner of California MENTOR, you can find answers to questions about your child’s development. CHP is an Early Intervention service provider that specializes in supporting children from birth to age 3 who have developmental disabilities and other complex challenges—including autism spectrum disorders.
We have a track record of success serving children with special needs that spans more than 25 years. Today we support hundreds of children through a network of experienced early intervention specialists, as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapists.
In-home Therapy Services
We know that raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience and support. And because a child’s home shapes early life experiences, we deliver specialized services in your own home, where your child can naturally learn and develop. A specialist can also provide support where a kid can be a kid, or at a setting that fits within your child’s needs, including:
- Parks
- Libraries
- Doctors offices
- Childcare settings
Our caring early intervention specialists use structured, play-based learning and focus on leveraging your child’s strengths during weekly sessions. Each session involves applied behavior analysis (ABA) and is designed around the needs of your child. With a focus on sensory development, we may help him or her improve skills, such as:
- Eating
- Talking
- Playing or interacting with others
- Communicating
- Physical awareness
- Reasoning
- Motor skills
- Walking
After we receive a referral from a Regional Center, we conduct a developmental assessment to determine if the child qualifies for early intervention services and the levels of supports needed.
Ongoing Support for Your Child and Family
As parents, you are with your child every day. Every interaction you have is an opportunity for skill development. We coach you through enhancing those opportunities and learning the skills necessary to work with your child. When your son or daughter is ready to begin pre-school, our specialists will work with you and your child’s school to ensure a smooth transition.
